Application Support Engineer – Skills and Experience
- Good proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Good customer facing skills

- Ability to prioritise tasks with competing priorities to ensure that deadlines are met
Desirable Skills
- Experience with EDI integration
- Experience of writing SQL queries for Oracle/MSSQL databases
- Knowledge of Linux OS and basic commands
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Bash, Velocity
- Previous experience providing technical support or configuration for bespoke software applications
- Creation of SharePoint pages

Application Support Engineer – Key Responsibilities
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the application
- Configure the application for new customers based on provided business requirements
- Analyse the master data provided by the customer to determine its quality and readiness for implementation
- Assist in the integration of the application with other systems used by the customer
- Test the configured solution to confirm that it meets the business requirements and create test plans
- Liaise with the test and development teams for new functionality requests or resolution of application bugs
- Create supporting documentation for the configured application
- Provide training to the customer, and other internal departments, regarding the use of the application
- Support the customer with the UAT process
- Provide onsite support during the transfer of the application to production, and provide hyper care support in the immediate period after go-live and prior to the transition to ‘Business as Usual’
- Support the Project Manager with the administration of the project and participate in project meetings
